Girl at Piano

About Me

I first started having piano lessons when I was six years old and passed Grade 8 when I was 17. I also learnt to play the violin, passing Grade 8 at 18, and have been singing in choirs since secondary school. After leaving school I studied chemistry and then worked as a project manager. But music was always my first passion and, following a career break after having my two children, I embarked upon my teaching career, completing a Diploma in Instrumental Teaching from the Associated Board (DipABRSM), passing with distinction. My aim is for piano lessons to be fun, flexible to the learners’ needs and relaxed, so that the students can achieve their goals and develop a real love of music and the piano.

In my spare time I enjoy baking, visiting museums and galleries, and spending time with my family - husband, daughters and Tallulah the cat. I also sing with the Harpenden Choral Society and organise the music for the family services at Our Lady of Lourdes RC church.

I am a member of the Musicians’ Union and have an enhanced DBS certificate.
