Lessons
I teach from my home near Crabtree School on Wednesdays. Lessons are £20 for 30 minutes, held weekly and charged per half term. I always recommend a short meeting first to check that a student is happy and ready to begin taking lessons. I have a baby grand Kawai GL10 and a digital Yamaha CLP-F01.
A typical lesson might involve a warm up, followed by rhythm or aural exercises, playing new and previously learnt pieces, sight reading, scales and improvisation and a theory game. I am happy to prepare students to take exams but these are by no means essential. Whatever a student’s goals are, I aim to deliver a full curriculum to help them develop into well rounded musicians who love to play the piano.
